The Women's Center's Mission is to promote gender equity through education, support and advocacy and to respond to issues affecting the status of female students, faculty and staff on campus, as well as women in the community and in society.
Multicultural Center Construction August 2008
The new Multicultural Center, which will house the Women's Center, Casa Latina, and Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, is being constructed under green standards with a geothermal heating and cooling system, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting, use of recyclable materials, including bamboo flooring, and closely monitored removal of construction material. Construction began in October 2007 and is tentatively scheduled to be completed in February 2009.
